The Lake Panamoka Civic Association is proud to announce that we will be sponsoring a family in need for Christmas this year.  If you know of a family in our neighborhood that has endured the loss of a spouse, a severe medical condition or loss of a job, you can submit a letter of recommendation for that family to receive our sponsorship.

The family will remain anonymous.  Two Board Members have been selected to review all of the letters we receive.  Those Board Members will be the only ones to know the names of the families recommended.  The letters will then be copied with all names blacked out to be reviewed by the Board of Directors. A vote will be cast and the 2 chosen Board Members will contact the family.

In your recommendation letter please state the hardship of the family, number of children indicating boy or girl with ages .  Please indicate what you feel are the greatest needs of the family and how the community can best help.

Our hope is to sponsor a fmily each year.  With the help of our community, local businesses,  other non-for-profit organizations we are hoping to make a difference.

A family may only be chosen once to receive this sponsorship.

Please have your recommendations submitted by October 31st, 2017.

By | Uncategorized

As of an update issued Thursday, eastern Suffolk County is now considered to be in the moderate drought category, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. That’s the second least intense of five categories.

Much of Suffolk was deemed to be in severe drought as of July 26 of last year, and most of the rest of Long Island followed suit in mid-September, according to the Northeast Regional Climate Center based at Cornell University.

3rd ANNUAL FRANK WINTERS MEMORIAL FISHING CONTEST

3rd ANNUAL FRANK WINTERS MEMORIAL FISHING CONTEST

By | Events

Panamoka’s youngest anglers enjoyed a beautiful day of fishing at Beach 1 on September 17th. John Fogus was happy to see a few new faces mingled in amougst his returning contestants. This season’s shallow waters kept the fish count low but the spirits were high regardless, especially for Matthew and Nicky Rouse who each caught their first fish ever during our contest.

Congrats to returning champ Adam Collins (age 9) for the largest fish caught with a 14” Big Mouth Bass AND the most fish caught.  Madison Siebenhar (age 7) was a close second.

Once again, John was happy to award a prize to every contestant who participated in the fun and thanked them for their sportsmanlike behavior.  We hope to see everybody again next year and encourage you to bring a friend or two to enjoy the fun.  Thanks for your support!
